Robots in daily life
Japan and robots seem like unseparatable. And so including when the Japanese, through some companies, keep producing various kinds of robots, to give hand to human. A lot kinds of robots have been created, with a lot kinds of models too, from animals-like to human robot. And as markets demands, some robots made it to succeed, while some others are on the contrary.
Some of the successful and likeable robots in Japanese daily are MySpoon robot and i-pot. While some others which stuck in fail are Hopis and ifbot robot.
MySpoon
MySpoon robot which was produced by Secom Co. was designed in arm-like design. The idea of making this robot is based on the fact that many seniors, having problem with stabilizing their hands or arms during their meal. Commonly caused by disease. MySpoon robots was designed in easy-operating control system.
i-pot robot
-pot robot was also considered as robot designed which get success in selling. I-pot robot shaped like pot. This robot was equipped with radio transmitter to send electronic mail. I-pot was made by Zojirushi Corp.
Hopis Robot.
Hopis The cute robot which was designed in fully puppy. Not only cute, hopis was designed to monitorise blood pressure, bloog glucose level and body’s temperature. Though had been created in cute look, but unfortunately hopis weren’t that succeeded. Sanyo corp had finally shut down the production of hopis.
ifbot robot.
the idea of creating ifbot was, to replace human maid function. According to the designer, ifbot could clean house, it could have a chat, could sing, and ifbot had even able to be fulfilled with some games like quizzes, to suit the consumers’ mental health. The high cost of ifbot (which sold for USD 4.300) had made ifbot were sold down in market, before finally unproduced.
