Google distributed some 5,000 Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 to attendees of the sold-out Google I/O 2011 developer conference Tuesday in San Francisco. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 runs Honeycomb, the newest edition in the Google Android mobile operating system.

The system is named after its 10.1 inch display screen, and is available in 16GB or 32GB variations. Powered by a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, the unit delivers display resolution of 1280×800 pixels, 1080p video recording and playback, an 8 megapixel rear camera with the LED flash, as well as a 2 megapixel front digital camera. It can be rumored the Tab’s pricing will start off at $399 prior to taxes, but Samsung hasn’t formally confirmed wherever it’ll be offered or for just how much.
