Ovum research firm projected that the total amount of the downloadable mobile application in the Asia Pacific region will reach 5.3 billion later in 2015 later. The majority came from the Apple iPhone and mobile users Google Android. From these approximate figures, a total of 597.15 million applications, or approximately 11% of them will be controlled by the iPhone. The total downloaded apps will only be rivaled by other mobile users that use the Android operating systems.

“Apple iPhone will dominate the smartphone market segment of high end within the next five years. However, this dominance will remain under strong competition from Android-based handsets,” said Ovum analyst Adam Leach, as quoted from the AFP on Wednesday .

According to Leach, the presence of Google Android started two years ago have become a new phenomenon and allow every handset maker creates an interesting alternative to the iPhone. Facing competition for android(s), Blackberry is said to have been preparing its new Operation System OS 6.0. The decision is based on the result from Research In Motion (RIM) that revealed that Blackberry better be preparing, competing with todays blockbuster – google android and Apple iPhone. Google so far has unveiled their new OS, Android 2.1, while Apple iPhone takes only ‘count of time’ launching iPhone OS 4 (iPhone 4G) to public.

Blackberry today has actually support user’s needs, said Ramon Llamas, analyst from IDC research. Some features like e-mail management, browsing, social networking and Blackberry’s apps. Only that these features already felt old-fashioned. Llamas suggested that Blackberry needs some innovation dealing with the boredome. Llamas expected that Blackberry will soon increase the browsing experience in Blackberry users.

Unfortunately stil there’s no official announcement towards the launching of blackberry 6.0 OS.
