HP Touchpad Ready to Compete IPad

Hewlett-Packard (HP) presents the fruit of their first hand with Palm in tablet form titled touchpad. It is promised, with WebOS this product would be more superior than its competitors, including the iPad. Approximately over a year ago HP acquired plam with a value of USD 1.2 billion. Apple is rumored to release a similar iPad tablet with a 7 inch screen soon . If there is no hindrance, these ‘smaller iPad’ will be rushed off the end of 2010. Quoted from PC Advisor, the rumor came from a leading financial newspaper from Taiwan, Economic Daily News. To note, before the launch of iPad for the first time, the Chinese newspaper was the first to report indeed Apple was preparing a tablet computer, while other sources mention a netbook.

Economic Daily News reported, a number of companies in Taiwan, won a contract to produce the components of iPad 2. Chimei Innolux was selected as a 7-inch LCD suppliers. This has the IPS screen technology (in-plane switching) which are the same as the iPad the first generation, it is a technology that enhance the ability of view angle and color on the LCD screen. Touch screen technology comes from a company called Cando Corporation. Not only that, Apple also pointed to Compal Electronics, one of the largest laptop maker in Taiwan, to assemble the latest iPad. Generally, component manufacturers who contracted other companies are reluctant to put forward what was wrought products. The success of iPad has urged the company to release iPad the second generation. The rumor around the iPad second generation came from a source in a technology manufacturs in Taiwan.

The company was said to received a lot of touchscreen order which predictedly to complete iPad. The source said that the new generation of iPad will have an 5,6 – 7 inch OLED touchscreen.

iPad new generation also rumored to be unveiled in the forth quarter this year.

As quoted from PC World last week, iPad second generation will ‘walk its path’ to eBook market, certainly different from the 9,7 inch screen which more focus on entertainment and multimedia features. Apple it self so far still has not made any official announcement about the rumor.
