LG Is Working LG Tablets Android Honeycomb

LG Electronics is getting closer to Tablet PC. The South Korean manufacturer is reportedly preparing an android tablet size 8.9-inch Honeycomb, which will be thrown to market in 2011. Quoted from Softpedia on Thursday, LG has officially confirmed the plan. It’s been a while that LG was widely reported to develop a tablet, which is named Optimus Pad.

The PC and mobile phones vendors, truely has made a rappid movement into tablet PC market since the success of the Apple iPad, and LG is no exception on it. They obviously do not want to see Apple dominate the market and controling up to 95% market share. Indeed, LG wants to adopt Android 2.2 or Froyo in this flagship tablet, but then Honeycomb is considered more suitable with the tablet device.

On the other hand, as rivals, Samsung has released the Galaxy Tab with Froyo. They are quite confident using this version of the Android OS. “There is a controversy whether Froyo is a suitable system for tablets, but the consumer who will decide the issue after using the Galaxy Tab,” said JK Shin, head of Samsung’s mobile division.

LG Is Promising Super Tablet PC This Year

The phenomenon of iPad Apple Tablet has made some world class electronic vendors contesting for touchscreen tablet.

Now LG is joining in ‘tablet war’ following Asus, MSI, Toshiba, and Dell.

As quoted from Vnunet, The South Corean vendor LG is promising a Super tablet PC, in slim and light design. LG is still counting on Android OS 2.2 or called Froyo OS. No further specification detail on the product, but rumor said LG Super Tablet PC will be unveiled at the forth quarter this year.
