Sony Bye-Bye Walkman

Remember the Walkman? Cassette player device that once had been very popular finally meet death. Sony Walkman that had become the largest producer, has decided to stop its manufacturing. According to the company which is based in Japan, they have been doing the last Walkman shipping in the Japanese market earlier this year. And if all units were sold out the Walkman will not be produced anymore. As quoted from PC Mag on Sunday, Sony itself began producing portable cassette player device since 1979.

Walkman may be a little late for its debut, but in the 1980′s, the device was then developed into a portable stereo. Its presence has also been replaced by an MP3 player. But a big achievement because of the Walkman ever be one device that successfully sold over 220 million units worldwide and has produced for more than 30 years.

However, Sony still remember the name by using it to name the ‘Walkman MP3 player’ such as Walkman NWZ-E350 series. Not only that, Sony also used the name for one of the features Walkman music player on their mobile phones.

And what about CDs? Sony says it will still produce CDs despite the popularity keeps declining. Previously, Sony had announced it would terminate the sales of floppy discs, a storage medium that has been produced by Sony since 1983. Sayonara, Walkman.

well Sony claimed that Sony Walkman S540 is the world’s first walkman which already integrated a built-in stereo in it. The built-in stereo system in S540 contains something which is called as ‘Digital Linar Phase Speaer with Virtual Bas and Linear Phase Correction’.

Sony Walkman S540 is designed in 2,4 inch screen size. The large screen is meant to flatter us watching video playback. The battery life can stand up to 30 hours by headphone, or six hours video plays, or up to ten hours by speaker. Sony Walkman S540 it self is made in black, pink, violet and red.

A multi-tasking device has just been launched by Sony inc. Not only that, an additional network streaming function, including PC streaming and internet radio via Wi-Fi is executable.
